So, Wednesday 23rd March saw us pulling into Kookaburra, Trees Road, Tallebudgera around 1530. After a couple of exciting 180 degree manoeuvres, via multipoint turns, we were finally set up but not before a bit of drama with the van slipping off the lateral leveling wedge a couple of times due to the soft, slippery ground. After two attempts we decided to live with the slight lean and binned the wedge for the time being.
Scott and Rose invited us up to the main house for a beer and a meal which was much appreciated, and where we met Morgan (11), Perry (9) and Mia (18 months). Then it was back to the van for a well deserved early night.
Thursday saw us explore the property a bit before heading off to get some supplies at the supermarket to replenish the van. We met up with Scott and Rose again that night and got a bit of a run down on their plans. We won’t tell you yet because then you wouldn't have to read the next few pages. All in good time.
Friday saw us start into the garden, Sheila initially whizzing off on the ride-on mower and me with the brush cutter until lunch time. Then it was push mower, blower and more brush cutting until beer o’clock. It was nice being physically active again and we felt we had earned our beer that evening. Saturday has been a day of domestic chores. Sheila has done all our washing, whilst I’ve updated our tax spreadsheet and penned this epistle.
