Having booked out of the cabin, and with a promise of returning with the van, 8am saw us bright and breezy at the Kedron factory, eager to collect our new addition to the family, we could just see it inside the factory doors having the last minute jobs done, all shiny and new.
Graham's job was to explain most of what we would need to know, 240 v, 12 v, batteries and chargers, solar panels, water tanks, heaters (water and diesel), air con, toilets and ‘Mr Whippies’, cookers, microwaves, water pumps, fridges, ariels, generators, boots and boxes, all the keys, and more. This took about two hours. Lisa helped us with the rego' etc for the van then it was off to Ben.
Ben explained about the type of hitch we had, the weight management bars, and the breaking system and camera. Sandy was then taken on a test drive with Ben to check out the breaking system and how the van rode attached to the truck.
Finally all the handover was done; we were now the proud owners of our van. Glen, one of the Gall boys, came out to take a photo to capture the moment (and the huge grins).
So with the van attached to the car, now all we needed to do was get the van back to the caravan park! Sandy having had the test drive with Ben took the helm (phew) whilst I navigated our way back. Why was I navigating and not the GPS? Well at this point it decided to go US (unservicable), wouldn’t you know it! Ah well good Army training (or GVC) got us back to the caravan park. Once we arrived we booked in collecting our new gate keys. We then took the van around to the site, with a promise from the lass behind the counter to send the boys over with the tractor to park it. Yes!
