The trip south - Part Two

Thursday 2nd September 2010

Thursday (2nd September) at 10am we met Tony at the Matilda Service Station, 15km south of Gympie. He had in tow, his 20 foot, Off Road, twin axled caravan and a silver Nissan Navara to pull it. We spent the whole day with Tony whilst he taught the both of us how to tow, reverse and reverse park a caravan. Helke provided us with lots of info on how to pack a van, and a lovely lunch. This was a great day, learning lots, and exspending a lot of nervous energy, we were buggered when we got back to the Inn.

Friday 3rd September 2010

Friday morning Tony picked us up from the Inn and we headed off down to the ferry to get across onto Noosa North Shore beach. Sandy and I learnt how to lower the tyre pressures and drive effectively on sand, and more importantly how to get out if bogged. This was great fun, mind you, it was necessary to concentrate on picking the best route and looking out for all sorts of hazard there to catch the unwary. We then headed across to Rainbow Beach where we had lunch and then back via an off road track through the trees.
