Thursday we were heading off to Tewantin near Noosa. We planned on stopping here so that we were well placed to turn up on Monday morning at Emundi to register for our 5 day course before following the bus up to Goomeri and Cinabar. We arrived at the Big4 caravan park relatively early, just after lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the park. It was certainly well appointed with large sites.
This was my turn to reverse park the caravan (first time)! With Sandy talking me in, some difficulty with the hand helds and relocating the wheelie bins we were soon parked! The site was set up with little fuss and we had a look at what was on offer at the park. They had a take away cafe so that night to celebrate Sandy and I had fish and chips.....big treat!
Friday (22nd) was recce day; we were on a mission to find the office we needed to register at on the Monday morning in Eumundi. The girls in the office (Judy and Gay) had sent us directions, so off we set. It was a good job we had the direction or we would never have found the place which turned out to be a resident, a very posh resident with tennis courts. Judy and Gay were lovely putting our minds at rest about what to do with the van on the Monday morning. They were also quick to reassure us that they had found us a job in Longreach......if we passed the course. They explained that we would be able to talk to our prospectus employers during the week and ask lots of questions, these particular people were looking for employees who were slightly older, not grey nomads but not kids either. The job would entail inside and outside work, a bit of this and a bit of that, so a willingness to put our hands to anything I think, anyway time will tell. By now it was lunch time and Sandy and I thought we would head to Noosa to see if it had changed much and find somewhere for a bit of lunch. Oh my god, the people, masses of them, I had forgotten what it was like, a mass of humanity, get me out of here!!! We did stay long enough for lunch just off Hastings Street, but yes definitely confirmed that this was not our thing.
Saturday and Sunday were to be quiet days, to recharge and catch up. With the 5 day course and then potentially a drive to Longreach and then work, who knows when next we will have a chance to put our feet up!
